Burnley FC Women will kick start 2020 in action in the Women’s FA Cup as the team welcome Nottingham Forest Women FC in the third round of the competition.

The fixture will pose a tough challenge as both sides have enjoyed strong league form, with the Claret Women ending December second in the table and Nottingham Forest following closely behind.

Last time the two sides faced each other in the league in mid-November, Nottingham Forest ran out winners on the day in a close 1-0 victory.

First Team Manager, Matt Bee said: “It will be a tough test. Obviously last time out, in what was a tight game, Forest showed their efficiency and quality at this level to come away with the 3 points. We will have to control all moments of the game if we are to achieve a positive result and progress to the next round.”

Kick-off is 1pm on Sunday 5th January and the game will take place at Padiham FC’s Ruby Civil Arena, 16 Well Street, Padiham, Burnley, BB12 8LE. Entrance is £3 for adults and £1 for under 16s.
