Players in the Under 12 team further their development and footballing journey at Burnley FC Women.
Focusing on small group tactics to continue developing and creating decision making, the team look to dominate possession intelligently and play in line with the Burnley FC Women DNA.
The team creates an environment based on teamwork and togetherness with everyone playing their part in order for the squad to progress and develop.
The team look to continue their development in all areas of the game, demonstrating a positive attitude towards defending and looking to react quickly in transition moments.
Under 12 Coach Adela Rodriguez’s overview of the 2017/18 season.
This was a season of change for the Under 12’s. Alongside challenges with changes in pitches, coach Joe Robinson left just before Christmas and long-time manager Mick Preston announced his departure at the end of January.
Adela Rodriguez took over the managerial reigns, working alongside BFCitC coach Ed Smart. The players and parents would like to extend a huge thank you to each of them for their valuable contributions to the team.
After a challenging start, performances started to pick-up. Although results were indifferent, only the eventual league winners Lostock Hall Panthers would inflict a heavy defeat on the Clarets.
The highlight of the season was a hugely entertaining 3-3 draw at rivals Preston North End which saw a last-minute equaliser save the ‘Lilywhites’ blushes!
