Chloe Mapp, who joined the Claret women this season, discusses her reason for the move and looking forward to gelling with the squad.
What is your previous playing experience and where have you come from?
I played for TNS (now Wem Town) ladies when I was younger and through university, then when I moved up to Manchester after uni, I signed for Stockport County and was there for the last 6 seasons.
What was it about Burnley FC Women that made you want to join?
Their journey from the regional league to where the club is now with back to back promotions was impressive, and I’m eager to compete at this level.
So far, how have you found getting on with the squad and Manager Matt Bee?
The players and staff have all been great and so welcoming. You can really feel the togetherness of the club from the first training session. Matt is a tactically-minded manager so I’m looking forward to seeing how I can develop my game at Burnley.
How are you feeling about the rest of the season?
I’m really excited to see what it brings and I just hope with everything going on at the minute that we get to finish it!
What are your ambitions for this season?
I’m looking forward to gelling with the team more on and off the pitch and hopefully can start contributing to the team’s success by bagging some goals!
