Burnley FC Women return to action at Padiham FC’s Ruby Civil Arena on Sunday as they face Loughborough Foxes.
The Claret Women faced a difficult afternoon at Stoke City FC Women last weekend, as they returned to league action for the first time since mid-January, meanwhile Loughborough have enjoyed an upturn in recent fixtures, so the game should prove a good test for both sides.
First Team Manager Matt Bee said: “Sunday was a clear reminder of how competitive and difficult this league is, we weren’t efficient in crucial areas, particularly in the second half where we lost our discipline and Stoke punished us. I have said many times that this will be a challenging season, we picked up some good early points but I always knew that the fixtures post Christmas would prove a major test. This league can change very quickly and we cannot have any complacency.
“We have to retain our identity over the coming games and ensure that we perform in line with our structures in order to be competitive. This weekend will be another huge test, they have had an upturn in results and will be full of confidence, we have to be fully prepared for a big test.”
Kick-off is 2pm on Sunday 8th March and the game will take place at Padiham FC’s Ruby Civil Arena, 16 Well Street, Padiham, Burnley, BB12 8LE. Entrance is £3 for adults and £1 for under 16s.
