Wednesday night will see a Lancashire Derby in the FA Women’s National League Premier Division as Burnley FC Women take on Fylde Women FC at Padiham FC’s Ruby Civil Arena.

The clarets women have enjoyed a strong start to the season. The squad staged an opening day comeback from a two goal first half deficit to beat league contenders Derby County Ladies on the first day of the season. This was followed by a 3-0 win over Leeds United Women to progress into the Preliminary Round of the FA Women’s National League Cup and success at the weekend saw them pick up their consecutive league win away at Midlands side West Bromwich Albion Women.

Fylde Women FC finished sixth in the league last season and like Burnley have introduced a number of new signings over the summer, with Jess Carberry from Liverpool FC Women, Georgia Teare from Everton Women and Ashleigh Hayes from Stoke City Women all signing for the Coasters.

The team secured their place in the next round of the FAWNL Cup with an accomplished 8-0 win over Solihull Moors recently, but in the league travel to Burnley on the back of a draw with Huddersfield Town Women and loss to Sunderland AFC Ladies, as they search for their first league win of the season.

Kick-off is 7:45pm on Wednesday 4th September and the game will take place at Padiham FC’s Ruby Civil Arena, 16 Well Street, Padiham, Burnley, BB12 8LE. Entrance is £3 for adults and £1 for under 16s.
