After an emphatic 3-0 win away to Crewe Alexandra Ladies FC earlier in the month, Burnley FC Women successfully sealed the FA Women’s National League Division One North title and promotion next season.

The team have two games remaining, both at home, and first up it’s Newcastle United Womens FC this Sunday.

Ahead of the fixture, Burnley FC Women’s Lizzy Hamer said: “Securing the league title at Crewe was a special day for all the players and everyone involved with the club; we’ve all worked immensely hard to get to this point and we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved.”

“Our focus now is back to our two remaining games, starting with Sunday against Newcastle. We’re in a position where we can enjoy our football without pressure, but we also want to perform to our best and get more points on the board for a strong finish to the season.”
